Palmyra Hotel

I felt sad leaving, which hasn’t happened to me in years after a holiday. Spiros is a wonderful owner, and the whole hotel gave me a little of the Greece I remember from years ago. It’s small and friendly, but still has the attentive, professional care of a bigger hotel. The location is perfect. Staff were caring and quick to help, with lovely attention to detail, but they didn’t hover. My room was cleaned every day and had fresh towels daily. Everything was so clean, and nothing was a problem. I’d definitely come back. Go before the island gets too busy, I have a feeling it’s on the up. Yiamas 🍻

We’re already booked for visits three and four after coming here for the second time. It’s a beautiful, peaceful hotel, and the beach is just a one-minute walk away. There’s always somewhere to sit or stretch out by the pool, and the staff make you feel like family. Marsala is especially kind and attentive, always laughing, and the kids all love her. Food and drinks are competitively priced, especially during the two-hour happy hour when every cocktail is €5. Can’t wait to return!

This is a good base if you want a pool and sun loungers, and the deep pool means kids can jump in too. The hotel’s location is nice, with some parking available for rental cars. The food you can order is good, though the pasta was dry, and service has improved since my last visit. It’s easy to order to your room on WhatsApp. I was last here in 2014, and the showers were dated then. They still are. The single rooms have no shade on the balcony, so it gets hot. Breakfast is the same each morning, which gets boring on a week-long or longer stay. Rooms are clean, and there’s even a little soap stand for guests, though I think it’s useless with a market next door. It’s a decent combination overall, but the local beach is poor. Take a ferry or car elsewhere if you want to enjoy clear sea.

We spent 18 days at Palmyra Hotel and felt at home from the moment we arrived. Everyone welcomed us with real warmth. The owners were lovely too, always around for a chat or to help, and clearly cared about guests feeling comfortable. The pool stayed sparkling clean, and we enjoyed lazy afternoons there in the peaceful setting. The hotel itself was great and the food very tasty. A beautiful beach is just a one-minute walk away, and Marsela was happy to bring food and drinks right to us there. The staff were all friendly and eager to help, but Marsela was a real standout. She’s bubbly, full of energy, and makes people feel special. She played with the kids and kept everyone cheerful, and the kids adored her. She really goes above and beyond. We’re already missing everyone and planning to come back next year. The facilities, food, and welcoming people made it a lovely place to stay, and we felt genuinely cared for.
