La Vie In Blue

Nestoras was the part of the stay I’ll remember most. Even though he was away for almost all of it, he checked in with me every day. I usually prefer to be left to myself, but he was funny, knowledgeable, and so caring that I found myself turning to him for everything. He rented me his huge, brontosaurus of a car, which made me feel like I had the whole island at my fingertips. Driving Mykonos’s little roads takes nerves of steel, and that car made it much more enjoyable and gave me confidence. The house was ridiculously pleasurable to stay in. The pool was a perfect temperature, and the staff were kind and discreet. Nestoras even sent over 'The World's Greatest Masseur' for a complimentary massage. The villa sits above a heavenly bay, with access to a glamorous beach club connected to Santa Marina Hotel. It wasn’t mobbed, which matters a lot in Mykonos. The restaurant and bar were divine, and people could show up in a bikini or couture. The food was heavenly, and the guests were absurdly beautiful. One afternoon, over Aperol Spritz, we watched a very glamorous blonde woman of a certain age walk down the jetty in a sheer black lace mini dress over a gold bikini, carrying a tiny, perfectly groomed Pomeranian. A tall, dark, handsome member of her staff, presumably, followed with two beach baskets, one black and one gold. She walked as if the jetty were a Paris runway. Valentino and Armani moored their spectacular yachts while we were there. Most afternoons we went down to swim, and felt peaceful and very, very happy. The compound was very safe and far from the madding crowd, while still being well placed for dinner or shopping in town. Some nights we barbecued and ate on the patio. Every night, we sat there watching the bay, the taxi boats darting around, the big yachts, the sky, and the maddening beauty of Greece. We were so entranced that I don’t think we ever went to bed before 3 am. Thanks, Nestaros. This is one of the best houses I’ve ever stayed in.

My whole family had a great time, and the owner was welcoming and took care of everything right away. I’ve stayed in many places with great views in many countries, but this is still my favorite view of them all.

The villa was super clean, with a perfect view and beach bars nearby. The host was always available and very helpful. Sitting by the pool with a good tune on was a lovely way to enjoy the view. Strongly recommended!
