It was very clean, and the staff were friendly and nice. The location was fantastic, close to markets and bakeries, and very near a lovely little beach. I wasn’t keen on one of the bathrooms, and the internet connection was very weak. Otherwise everything was good, and I’d definitely recommend it.

Villa del Sol is about 100 meters, or a one-minute walk, from Ornos beach, one of Mykonos’s best full-service beaches. The bus station for Mykonos Town is two minutes away, and the ride takes 10 minutes and costs €2. A good supermarket, two excellent bakeries, and several good to great restaurants are all about a five-minute walk away. We had a two-bedroom apartment on three floors. Each of the upper floors has a bedroom and bathroom. Downstairs there’s a well-equipped kitchen and living room, with a small patio facing the pool. The main bedroom on the second level has a large balcony over the pool. There’s a washer and a drying rack on the balcony, and laundry dries in 30 minutes in the heat and wind. The kitchen has a full-size stove and oven, a full-size fridge with freezer, a Nespresso coffee maker, panini maker, and more. You could easily cook a full meal for four with the equipment provided. Everything in the rooms and shared areas was sparkling clean and to a high standard, including the bedding. The rooms are cleaned daily, and the whole property is exceptionally well maintained. Christina is a friendly and helpful host who can arrange car service and rental cars. The place feels upscale, and it’s hard to imagine missing anything substantial. The accommodations, location, service, and value together make Villa del Sol an excellent choice on Mykonos.

There are plenty of good restaurants by the nearby beach, which is nice to spend time at. The apartments are small but have a kitchen and laundry facilities, and I loved the pool. It’s also easy to catch a bus into the old town or take a water taxi to beaches on the island’s south side, like Paradise.

The receptionist was lovely and really helpful, and the villa came with a free transfer both ways. It’s a short walk to the beach and its restaurants, and there’s a bakery and market nearby that we liked. The bus stop by the bakery makes it easy to get to town or other local beaches. The free Wi-Fi was pretty temperamental, though. There’s a good-sized pool with lots of sunbeds, plus fresh swimming towels each day. The villa is spread across three levels. Downstairs, there’s a lounge with a TV, dining area and well-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, coffee machine, cooker, oven and fridge. The basement toilet room has a washing machine, iron and ironing board. On the next floor, the double bedroom has a TV, small wardrobe and balcony facing the pool, with a table, chairs and drying rack. The basin is in the bedroom rather than the bathroom, which felt a bit odd. The shower isn’t enclosed, so water gets everywhere. Put down plenty of towels or mats. Upstairs are two single beds, a wardrobe, a small window and another bathroom with a shower, toilet and basin. For the price, it’s a great size villa and close to the main things you’d want or need.

Ornos worked really well for our family. The kids loved the beach, there are lots of restaurants nearby, and the pool is lovely with sunbeds always available. We had a two-bedroom sea-view apartment that was just right for the four of us. It was spotlessly clean, in a great location, and the staff were friendly. The front desk would go out of her way to help, and they also offer babysitting. You can book activities or car rentals there too. The apartment has a full kitchen for cooking. Mykonos bakery has lots of good bread and stays open 24 hours, and there’s a supermarket close by. We could use Amazon Prime and Netflix on the TV, but remember to log out at checkout. I forgot to sign out of my Netflix account, and the next person who checked into the apartment used it and changed the language to Chinese. I had to call Netflix to switch the settings back to English.
