Apollon Hotel Corfu

Everything for an easy, relaxing holiday is close by, including restaurants, shops, and parking. The hotel is right by the sea in the heart of Paleokastritsa, with beautiful views. Our room was spotless, and the area was peaceful. The reception team were incredibly kind, helpful, and professional. They sorted out our reservation and car rental for us. We had a truly wonderful holiday here, and I highly recommend it! 🌊✨

The location was quite good, but the hotel itself felt pretty standard. We stayed in a newly built section, and the toilet seat in our bathroom was broken. Every time we used it, we had to worry about falling, which was ridiculous. Breakfast was very basic, with what seemed like ordinary supermarket ingredients instead of fresh, fragrant things like good olives, olive oil, or ripe tomatoes. There wasn’t any avocado, for example. The eggs kept running out, and the service was poor. We also had lunch there once, and it was terrible.

Just to be clear, I’m reviewing the restaurant on the front deck, not the hotel. After relaxing at Ampelaki beach, we stopped in for lunch. The food was delicious: Pattie got a huge Greek salad, and I had a tasty pork gyro. We each had a glass of their specialty iced tea, basil cucumber for her and passionfruit lemon for me. The whole bill came to $25€. Solid. Very solid.

The staff were kind, welcoming, and genuinely helpful throughout, and the location was excellent, right across from a beautiful beach with lots of good restaurants within walking distance. Still, for what we paid, the hotel didn’t meet expectations. Better upkeep and attention to detail would make a difference. We booked the Annex with a “partial ocean view,” but what we mostly looked out on was the parking lot. The breakfast selection was very limited. After staying at a hotel in Croatia with plenty of options, this was disappointing; we were there four nights and only ate breakfast once. Our room’s interior and bathroom were new and nicely designed, but sewer flies kept appearing, along with a persistent smell from the bathroom. We didn’t mention the flies at first, but when they continued, I emailed the hotel. They sprayed the room, though the flies came back. Housekeeping didn’t clear them during cleaning, and shower gel wasn’t restocked until I asked. The outside of the Annex also felt neglected, with no effort to make it look appealing.
