Dolphin Apartments

We booked through AirBnB, though I think it's possible to book directly too. The apartments were quite nice and good value. The main reason we picked them was their walking distance to a couple of beaches and good restaurants, and that worked out wonderfully. There's a lightly stocked kitchen, modern bathrooms, and decks overlooking a beautiful garden area. There's no washer or dryer, though we could have used them on our trip. It's a good budget choice, with hotels nearby if you want more services. Recommended especially if you're driving a rental car and want to explore beyond Paleokastritsa.

For what we paid, I expected a lot more. We stayed in several apartments on the island, and this one was definitely not among the better ones. The location is nice and there are some balconies, but the view isn't anything special, and we found a much better place for less money. The rooms were small, and the kitchen in our double-room apartment was tiny, so there wasn't much space for the price. The bathroom was awkward too: there was no holder for the shower, and the curtain didn't keep water from getting onto the toilet and floor. The biggest problem was the smell. There are open drains in the bathroom, and a sewer-like odor sometimes spread into the room, especially in the morning. We had to choose between an open window, with mosquitoes and no net, or closed windows and the smell. There was one AC remote for the two units in the two rooms. That was manageable during the day, but at night it made adjusting the temperature or turning an AC off difficult. We told the host, who said another remote would arrive in two days, but even after five days nothing had changed.

The room had a smell as soon as we walked in, and there were dead bugs on the wall and floor. They didn't provide soap or shampoo either. It felt expensive for what we got. My husband booked through Airbnb, and communication was awful. They sent the entry code, then stopped replying when we asked a question.

We already knew Corfu since we live in Zakynthos, so we chose Paleokastritza as the best area for us. The apartment was perfectly placed for seeing Paleokastritza, close to the beach, clean, and all new. It suited us really well. Vasilis was very helpful over email and sent us all the information we needed. They also let us check out late. We'll definitely come back. Kisses to Vasilis and his family.
