Ulisse Apartments

Katerina and Vasilis were wonderful hosts. Our car's gearbox or engine wasn't very powerful enough for the hill, so we caused them a bit of trouble on arrival, but Vasilis saved the day. We really appreciated their kindness, help, patience and hospitality. The place is very clean and organized, with a lovely view. It gets breezy at night, so you can sleep without A/C. Just keep the climb in mind if you have a small car with a relatively weak engine. You might be better off leaving it on the road and walking up the footpath to the house. It's a 7-8 minute walk uphill and 3-4 minutes back down. Luggage makes it harder, but it's manageable if you're in decent shape.

The lady was very nice, and the service was excellent. It's a great place to stay with a lovely view. The steep climb up and the bugs when you're sitting outside are the main things to keep in mind.

The apartments have their own outdoor balcony and terrace overlooking a beautiful garden. It's a lovely, peaceful place despite being close to the Mainroad and beaches, and it's well suited to a longer stay. There's also a nice hiking Path to Lakones that starts right behind the apartments.

Katrina is warm and charming, and happily gives tips on what to see and where to go, including which beach has the best sunsets. We had a great time. It's a basic, clean, roomy appartment, nothing fancy. The top floor has a balcony with a sea view like a postcard, and the garden has fig, pomgranade and lemon trees. There's parking if you come by car, though you don't really need one since everything nearby is walkable. A pebble beach with clear water and hardly any waves is about 150 downhill. The way back is a steep climb. We also rented a motorboat to explore other beaches.
