Nikki, the host, hadn't been clear about what was included through booking.com. When we pressed to get the room we'd reserved, she switched to Greek and became quite difficult to deal with. She also asked us to pay in cash instead of by Visa, but on the last day, before we paid, we found she'd already charged our credit card more than the agreed price. Sadly, people like this do run hotels, though fortunately there aren't many of them.

The apartment sits in a lovely garden and is very central, close to the beach. We did find ants in the room, though.

Room 28 was great, with the basics and everything else we needed. The balcony gets morning sun, and there's a large awning you can lower.

The room was great for an overnight stop in beautiful Palaiochora. The only issue was the wifi.
