The location is a real plus, right by the sea promenade and an easy walk to the town center. The rooms were very clean and reasonably spacious, breakfast was enjoyable, and the owner's son gave very friendly service. Parking is about a five-minute walk away. The problem came with the interior door, which fell off on the first day just from closing it, without force. I left the handle beside the door for four days so the cleaning staff could see it. Booking later sent me a message asking me to pay for damage. When I called the owner, he said we had broken it and hadn't told him. He said the cleaning lady hadn't reported it. He also claimed we'd forced the handle instead of using a key. I asked which key he meant, since we hadn't been given one, and he said we should have asked. I didn't see how we could know there was a key. He wouldn't accept that we hadn't broken or hidden the handle, so I offered to pay the 100 Euro he said the repair had cost. He refused and hung up. That left a bad taste after our stay.

We ended up adding two nights because we were having such a good time. The rooms were simple, with a fridge, air conditioning, and everything we needed. It's a family-run place, and they took such good care of me and my young son. They were warm, kind, and generous, and made us feel safe and welcome. Honestly, one of our best holidays in a long while. We'll be back.

The town gets very windy in July and August, so keep that in mind before you go. We booked late, when there weren't many places near the center to choose from. This hotel is right in the center and close to a pebble beach that's good for swimming. Our room had a sea view, but it was very small and basic. The extra 25€/night for that view didn't feel worthwhile, since it was always too hot to sit outside. No wind came into the room either, so we ran the AC day and night. A city view room at the back seems the smarter option. The bathroom was tiny but usable and had been renovated recently. Towels and two small containers of shampoo/body wash were provided. Management were very friendly and keen to help, and I want to thank them for their hospitality. Still, during our five days the maid came in only once, as far as we could tell, folding the sheets and emptying the bathroom bin. By departure the floor was very dirty, and neither towels nor sheets had been changed. I'm not sure whether the bathroom was cleaned. Someone also came into our room a couple of times just to switch off the AC, presumably to save energy. Breakfast was extremely basic. On the fourth day we got stomach cramps and felt sick. The food seemed poorly refrigerated, or perhaps not refrigerated at all. If you can book cheaper without breakfast, I'd do that; there are several excellent breakfast shops nearby. I'm sharing this feedback in the hope they can improve the service.

The property is clean overall, and our room had a sea view. It's central in Paleochora, though the town is so small that being right in the heart of it isn't much of a special advantage. We stayed for three days. Before arriving, we called to say we were on our way, and the woman who answered said it was good that we had 'reminded them' we were coming. From that, I got the impression they might forget, so I'd confirm ahead of time. We also found the same sheets and towels on our second day. Since we were there only about 2.5 days, we didn't make a fuss. Breakfast was very basic, just a few slices of bread and cheese, pepper, and an egg. Fine if you're on a diet :)) The price was another concern. At checkout, the gentleman insisted our nightly rate was different from the amount we'd originally been told. If you stay here, confirm the booking and price in writing so you don't end up in the same situation.
