Adrina Grand Hotel

The reputation is well deserved. I had a great time in every way, and the service was the best I’ve come across in Greece, even compared with much more expensive resorts.

We had our honeymoon here, and it was the best experience of my life. The whole team made it unforgettable, from the reception staff and waiters to the Asian cleaning ladies and the skipper of the boat excursion. If management reads this, please congratulate them. They’re a wonderful team, and you should be proud. Some of the waiters already know they were incredible, and a few are fans of our soccer team. The food, service, and activities were all 10/10. The setting is beautiful and nature is respected, though of course insects can be annoying. We went in June while things were still getting started, so the hotel wasn’t fully operational yet. One thing I’d suggest is enclosing the dinner area with a glass door, because so many bugs got into our drinks and made dining very uncomfortable. I could write thousands of words about the good parts and still not cover it all. It’s a heavenly place for a holiday, and I hope to return next year.

The place feels well organized, with a clear desire to look after guests. Small thoughtful touches are everywhere, and they don’t seem to count every little cost. The staff across all departments were remarkably friendly, willing, and helpful, even by the standards of more expensive hotels. The food was carefully prepared and very reasonably priced, enough that we didn’t feel like eating out, especially since the few good options nearby cost more. The beach is organized and has a jellyfish protection net over most of it. The cable car makes getting between the rooms and other areas much easier. For quiet holidays in a lovely setting, it’s a reliable choice. Breakfast needs work: there wasn’t enough variety, the quality was lacking, and some items often weren’t replenished. A couple of practical fixes would help too. The first umbrella to the left of the beach showers should be raised, since anyone over 1.60 is likely to hit their head. And the cable car air conditioning seems to recycle air. A setting that gave you a cool breath when stepping in after the heat would be invaluable.
