Kantouni Beach Boutique Hotel Kalymnos

The team were fantastic, from the front of house to everyone working behind the scenes, and reception was happy to arrange taxis and bookings at restaurants outside the hotel. We’ve just come back from a week here and had a wonderful stay. As the name suggests, it’s right on the beach, facing west for lovely sunsets. The sunrises over the eastern crags were pretty good too. The hotel has no more than 30 rooms, most with spectacular sea views. Our junior suite was spacious and hard to fault, with a huge comfortable bed, great pillows, a good shower, quiet, effective air conditioning, and all the usual amenities for this level. There were plenty of sunbeds, so no scramble to claim one. They were very comfortable, with thick mattresses, probably the best we’ve used. The pool is a good size for a boutique hotel, and there are steps straight down to the beach for a swim in the sea. The restaurant and bar have a good range of seating, including an upper level, and breakfast was fantastic. We ate there on three of our eight evenings. The menu had a decent choice, as did the wines. The octopus starter was staggeringly good. Portions can be large, so share a dessert unless you’re really hungry. Snacks are served through the day too. We mostly had salads, and they were excellent. The churros are also worth having. Everything was immaculately clean. We had great weather, and despite the hot Aegean sun, the pool and sunbed area never felt too hot to walk on barefoot. We often enjoyed the fantastic sunsets with a cocktail. Really couldn’t fault the place.

The staff are what make this place so special. The whole team works together and makes every guest feel welcome and well looked after, whether it’s your first visit or you’ve stayed several times. They made us feel like part of the Kantouni family, and I’m so grateful they made our trip special. I hope we can come back before long. The hotel is gorgeous, with spacious, spotless rooms and all the little extras you could want. The pool area stays clean, and there are plenty of sunbeds even when the hotel is full. You’re right on the beach, and the sea is great for swimming. The bar and restaurant serve lovely food and drinks, and nothing seems like too much trouble. It’s a peaceful place to base yourself while exploring the island, then come back to relax. Getting around is easy even without a car. We found taxis most convenient for farther places, and also enjoyed walking. Once you find this place, you’ll want to return again and again.

We stayed with friends in May and were blown away by how beautiful the complex is. The staff were all friendly and helpful, the restaurant food was exceptionally good, and the cocktails were sensational. Absolute bliss. Can’t wait to come back!

You’re right on the beach, and there are restaurant options just up along it. The walk up the hill to the church is great, and there’s yoga in the morning. Breakfast is the best, and the hotel’s food and drinks are awesome. There’s just nowhere better to stay in Kalymnos.
