That the sea is nearby and the sunbeds are free sounds good until you realize everyone can use them, so you need to get up very early to claim one. After everything else, even the garbage truck at 5 a.m. starts to seem bearable. The room had no mosquito nets. Its three different curtains were all torn or full of holes, and the AC couldn’t be controlled. It kept blowing endlessly, turning the room into an “Ice Age,” and even dripped condensation water. We were given only sheets as covers. I asked for an extra blanket and had to ask twice before getting one. The shower holder attached to the wall was missing, so you had to hold the showerhead yourself. A street-facing room also means the garbage truck wakes the whole neighborhood at 5 a.m. The choice was to sleep under the freezing AC or leave the door open, wake up early, and get bitten by mosquitoes. There’s no parking nearby. They pointed us to a public lot half a kilometer away. Strongly recommend it if you have low self-esteem. Have some self-respect and avoid it. GLHF

Breakfast is included, but it’s the same food every day. The rooms on the street side can be noisy until midnight or later. I don’t know what it’s like on the eastern, sea-facing side. The rooms are clean, and the staff are pleasant and helpful. The main drawback is getting there by car and finding parking. The street closes to traffic after 7 p.m., and the public parking areas are about 500 meters away. Still, it’s a good place to stay.

The balcony has a nice view, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I didn’t try the bar or restaurant, though they looked fairly elegant and seemed to have plenty of stock. It’s a very nice hotel, but the price feels a little high for what you get. The hotel is on a pedestrian street, so there’s no parking on site.

The beach area is cramped, with everyone packed in like sardines, and the sand is littered with cigarettes. I wasn’t happy with it. A waitress tried to overcharge us by 5 euros for two drinks and two coffees, then apologized only after I pointed it out. If I hadn’t checked the bill, she would have lied about it. The drinks only came halfway up the cups, and the coffee was mostly water. I wouldn’t recommend Mistral. The next bar is much better: the prices match the drinks, and the staff are polite.

We had a lovely time, and the people were considerate. The restaurant is right on the beach, which is a great location. For parking, leave the car wherever you can find a spot. July 2016.
