Yakinthos Hotel

Handy spot near the beach, and the rooms look modern and nice. We did run into a few little things missing, like shower gel, soap, or a hair dryer. The staff were really good about it, though, and brought whatever we reported straight away.

We stayed here for three nights during a school trip to Katerini. The breakfast was amazing, with plenty of choice, and dinner changed each day so we weren’t stuck eating the same things.

A really awful dinner experience at Hotel Yakinthos. We went for the so-called “Greek Night,” waited more than two hours for food, then got dry, tasteless meat. Even a basic glass of juice took over an hour. The staff seemed disorganized and indifferent the whole time. This was one of the worst meals out I’ve had, and I’d never recommend the place. Avoid it.

The staff were very nice and welcoming, and the location is decent. But the place itself is badly worn, with cheap finishes. We had to move rooms three times before we got one that was acceptable. Some rooms have no windows for natural light, the furniture is badly battered, sockets were loose, and the baths were coming apart. The doors looked as if they’d been kicked in several times. It reminded me of the student hostels I knew back in the 1990s. The staff were kind, but the hotel needs a complete rebuild or should close.
