Elena Hotel

Parga is beautiful, and Elena apartments made a perfect base for a fantastic holiday. The walk into town took a bit longer than we expected, but there’s a quieter, easier back road than the main street. The apartment was lovely and clean, with maid service every day. We were there when it was 40°, so paying for the air conditioning was definitely worthwhile. I’d seen complaints on TripAdvisor about the sunbeds, but they were the standard white plastic kind you see at any pool, so I didn’t see the issue. The pool was a good size, there was always plenty of room, and we never had trouble finding a sunbed.

The pool area was nice and clean, and the peaceful surroundings made up for being a little way from the centre. It’s a good family hotel with good service. The rooms show some age, as they did when I stayed a few years ago, and reaching them involves climbing stairs.

My mother asked me to write this for her in English so the staff can understand. She said the stay would have earned five stars if not for the staff. The cleaner kept utensils, toilet paper, towels, and strong-smelling detergent with its lid off in the room, using it like a cupboard. She also found the pool bar staff rude and threatening toward customers. The only kind person she met was a receptionist in her 30s. She won't return, and neither will my husband and I when we visit Parga in May 2023.

The views were stunning, and people were friendly. There were plenty of excursions and things to do, and we really enjoyed our week. The accommodation was basic but very clean and comfortable. It was close enough to restaurants, shops, and beaches, while sitting far enough from central Parga that summer noise might be less of a problem. We'd love to come back soon.
