Palatino Hotel

The sea and beach view from our room was superb, and the hotel is only about 500 meters, an eight-minute walk, from the beach. Getting there by car isn’t practical: there’s no parking at the hotel and the road is narrow, so you have to leave the car on the main road above. We had no trouble parking there. We hadn’t booked ahead, but a room was available. The gentleman at reception even gave us a small discount because we’re young, which we really appreciated. Cleanliness was disappointing. They mopped the floor and wiped the table and wardrobe, but there was dust elsewhere, including on the chair, the headboard, ceiling, and corners. The bathroom debris hadn’t been cleaned, the drains were full of hair, and shower water drained slowly. The Wi-Fi barely had a signal and didn’t work at all for us. I’d give it four stars for the view and how close it is to the beach.

Parking is limited. The rooms are very nice and have air conditioning. The bathrooms are nice too, though there are no shelves in the shower.

We had a great two-night honeymoon stay at the Palatino Hotel. The balcony looked out over the ocean, and our suite had everything we needed. There was a mix-up when we arrived and we were put in the wrong room, even though we’d booked an ocean-view room. Once the woman at the front desk noticed, she came over right away to help us move and upgraded us to a gorgeous ocean-view suite. Breakfast each day was pretty good, though we didn’t try dinner. Shops and restaurants are a short walk away, as are the castle and the path to the beach. We’d absolutely stay again.

The view was nice, the bathroom was good, the beds were comfortable, and the air conditioning worked well. The room itself was old and worn and really should have been refurbished. This isn’t a place I’d recommend bringing small children. The hotel does have Wi-Fi, but it was so poor that we couldn’t use it for much of the day. Breakfast was very simple and not something I’d recommend. Parga has lots of stairs and hills, so don’t book this hotel if you’re unfit, elderly, or have a heart problem. It’s a decent hotel in a good location.
