Salvator Villas & Spa Hotel

Parga itself is lovely, and we'd happily return to the area, but not to this hotel. It doesn't live up to its four-star rating. The breakfast selection was okay, while the lunch and dinner menu was plain and a bit disappointing. We ate there a couple of evenings, then chose from the many restaurants in town. It's a quiet spot a little outside the centre, and even in high season it didn't feel crowded, perhaps because there aren't many rooms. Most staff were friendly and accommodating. Our room had a private pool, which was a nice extra, though plumbing or pipes made a lot of noise for a couple of days and nights. The room was worn and didn't look like the photos from either the hotel or the travel agency. Several things in the room and around the hotel were faulty and needed maintenance. We asked for two things to be fixed during our week, and only one was done. At least it was cleaned nicely each day, and the beds were good.

The hotel has a great view and amazing staff. I was ill, so we didn't get to use the pool, spa, or fitness centre, though I know they're fantastic. We'll come back in summer.

The staff were always smiling, and that made the hotel feel welcoming. Everyone gave great service and deserves credit. Noni and Vicky were especially helpful, sharing information about our outings and suggesting places to see. We didn't get the other staff members' names, but they were lovely too. Sofia in the kitchen made great cake and breakfast. Our room was spacious, clean, cool and quiet, with comfortable beds. The fridge came in handy, and we appreciated having a bath after an activity holiday with very basic facilities. There was parking for our hire car. Parga is a 20-25 minute walk away, though the shuttle bus was a welcome help in the heat. We thought there might be a shortcut but didn't have time to look for it. The pool was a good size and clean, with plenty of sunbeds.

The room had a really good mattress, which matters a lot to me, and the staff were smiling, professional and helpful. It's not a perfect hotel, but those things earned it five stars from me. It felt a bit far from both beaches and quite close to a busy road. The view of the mountains and sea was nice, though.
