Ocean Villa Paros

The private pool and outdoor dining spot were highlights, and the hostess was attentive, making sure we had what we needed. Ocean Villa Paros was a spectacular getaway, with a breathtaking sea view. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the decor was beautiful. Highly recommend!

Getting to this apartment takes a little care. Like many places on the Greek islands, some of the roads are unpaved, and this one is about three quarters of a mile from the main road. The bumpy drive was manageable in any car, though our GPS missed the place at first. Sole Café helped as a landmark: turn right onto the road before the café on your left. The café itself is a great breakfast spot. That less convenient approach comes with incredible views. And the views really are spectacular, across the Aegean Sea to Antiparos, with sunsets we'll remember. The pool is beautiful, the outdoor furniture is high quality, and although the complex has three separate apartments or villas, it felt private and we never felt crowded by neighbors. Inside, the villa is bright and minimalist, with well-made furniture. We had a two-bedroom, two-bath place for just the two of us, so it felt luxuriously spacious. The main bedroom was roomy, and the bed was firm but comfortable. The main bathroom vanity was nice, though the room could use updating, especially the tiled shower and its handheld showerhead. The second bathroom is downstairs, along with a washing machine. Laundry facilities were a big plus. The owners had provided a basket, clothespins, and a large outdoor drying rack, and the strong island breezes dried our clothes quickly. We also liked the wooden shutters outside the bedroom windows. You open the window and latch the shutters closed, which kept the rooms dark and quiet. The property manager was lovely, showed us around quickly, and suggested nearby places to eat and beaches. At check-in we received a basket of fresh fruit, two bottles of water, and wine. Paralia, where the ferry to Antiparos leaves, is about ten minutes away. Taking the ferry was easy, even with our car. It runs continually, and you drive aboard and pay once on board. It cost about 10 euros for two people and a car. Nearby towns are easy to explore too. Parasporos, a charming seaside village with a pleasant waterfront and several restaurants, is about 15 minutes away. Mythic, a boutique hotel with a restaurant called Muzzein, is only seven minutes from the property. Its menu is limited, but the service, cocktails, and views make it worth a visit. Lefkes is another nice outing, a mountain town about 15-20 minutes away, with pretty lanes lined by shops and restaurants. A couple of practical things to know: the apartment's tap water is fine for washing but not drinking, so you'll need bottled water. We didn't cook, so this wasn't much of a problem for us. Also allow extra time for traffic heading into Naoussa, where the main ferry port is. At busy times, the drive can take much longer than expected, sometimes up to an hour. Lunchtime is usually worst, especially at a four-way intersection where the road from the apartment has the only stop sign and backs up while the other traffic keeps moving. It once took us 45 minutes to go just 1.5 miles.

The house's interior was just as impressive as the views, with thoughtful design in every corner that made it feel like home. During our stay at Ocean Villa Paros, the balcony view was breathtaking, especially at sunset, and the pool area had a stunning view too. I'd definitely recommend it.

The host went out of their way to make things work for us during our stay. The location was amazing, with what has to be one of the best views in Paros. I highly recommend it.
