Marietta Hotel & Apartments

A lovely hotel in a peaceful village, and a great base for exploring the island. The food is excellent, and the staff are amazing. They were so helpful with things like car hire and bus times, and couldn’t do enough to make our holiday a good one.

It’s the welcoming staff, atmosphere, food, and regulars that make Marietta's Appartments such a great place. You can tell it’s a family run hotel that’s truly loved, and it’s well worth a stay. Just don’t expect first class rooms. The accommodation is basic, but clean and has what you need, and how much time are you really awake in your room anyway? Thanks for our July holiday, Marietta. The staff and Marietta’s family have been fantastic all week, genuinely lovely people who made us feel welcome and never made anything feel like too much trouble. It’s easy to see why guests return, and we definitely would. The rooms are basic but clean and tidy. The apartments are well placed in a village with good restaurants, close to Rhodes Town, though not near the beach. The food here is excellent if you’d rather stay in. The pool area itself is tidy and clean, but far too small for peak season. We arrived close to midnight on Saturday and almost every lounger already had a towel on it. Once someone claims one, it seems to stay reserved for the rest of the day. It was embarrassing to see. On Sunday night at 10, we watched a man leave the bar and rearrange loungers on the communal balcony for his family the next morning. I’ve never even thought about doing that on holiday. After a nice meal, I was relaxing with a few drinks before bed, and couldn’t imagine anything less interesting or worthwhile than moving loungers around at 10 at night. It was a sad sight, though it’s no reflection on the hotel or staff.

We stayed here around six or seven years ago, and my partner and I still think about it. It’s an amazing family run hotel, with great service and people who were always a pleasure to talk to and happy to help with requests. The food was lovely, like a home cooked meal made with care. My girlfriend and I were welcomed with open arms and always felt safe. Buses made it easy to get to the old town, main town, and party areas, and you could buy lots of excursions in the village nearby.
