Castello Hotel

There’s a lovely garden and patio, and the staff are super friendly. Parking is enclosed, and they leave refreshments out each day. You’re right by the shopping street for picking up groceries. I’d grab coffee and breakfast to take away from somewhere in town and eat it on the apartment balcony or patio. The breakfast room felt a little dark and depressing to me. A handy place to stay if you have family at Rio University Hospital.

Service was spot on, and we’d happily return. The big balcony has retractable sun shades, which was a real plus. Inside, everything felt new and clean, with large beds and new mattresses, basic kitchen appliances, a sound system, and a flat screen TV. We were given more than we expected.

There’s a restaurant by the roundabout with traditional food at very good prices. The place is useful for a break when you’re travelling on the motorway, and it’s within walking distance of Rio university hospital. On the same road, near the hospital, you’ll find restaurants, a supermarket, pharmacy, and bakery.

The hotel is well equipped, whether you want to cook for yourself or just take it easy. Staff were really friendly, spoke good English, and were very helpful. It’s about five minutes from Rio hospital. Local restaurants are good, and Rio Bridge is a short taxi ride away.
