Hotel Tzaki

For the price, it was a decent hotel, and I had a lovely time. It’s very close to the beach, and you get a free sunbed, but it was extremely annoying to find none available because the beds aren’t reserved for hotel guests and anyone can use them. I’d suggest changing that policy. Our rooms were cleaned each day and replenished with bathroom amenities.

The restaurant was below average and rather expensive. There’s only one other place within walking distance, though. This is an old hotel with few amenities, set right by the beach in a very calm part of the city. The suburban rail station is about a 10-minute walk away, and the train runs to the city just once an hour as the only nearby transport.

The oceanfront location is the big plus. The sun chairs are included, if you can find one. The rooms, halls, and the rest of the hotel look like they needed updating 15 years ago. Our room was large, with a sitting area, but the sofas had no cushioning left and should’ve been tossed at least 10 years ago. It’s okay if you’re not looking for anything fancy or updated. Breakfast comes with the stay. We tried it the first morning but skipped it the next day. It was okay, nothing special.

There’s a parking area right in front, so parking was easy. The hotel has a nostalgic feel, and the restaurant and hotel staff were friendly and attentive. I really liked the atmosphere in the restaurant garden. Breakfast, though, was very poor. For instance, I expected tomatoes at breakfast during a July stay in Greece.
