My room with my grandmother was immaculate and stayed that way thanks to the hard-working cleaning staff, who kept the outside area tidy too. Maria (o kalýterós mou fílos) was the most wonderful person I've ever met. Maira taught me Greek, and I've kept learning since I got home. Mike and dimiter became two of the best friends I could have asked for while I was there. I think of them as brothers and will miss them all so much. I'll be back soon, either next year or definitely in 2027, which gives me more time to practice my Greek. (Sas agapó Máira, Máik kai Ntimíter, kai tha sas xanadó ólous sýntoma).

The location worked really well for me. It’s a few streets back from the beach, so it felt calmer than the busy centre, especially late at night, and parking on the street was easy. The rooms are basic-looking but exceptionally clean, and the staff were genuinely friendly and attentive. Breakfast had a good mix of continental, English and Greek options. The kitchenette is fine for the odd meal, though I wouldn’t want to rely on it full time. There’s a great snack bar for daytime food, plus plenty of nearby bars and restaurants for evenings. I’d happily stay here again. And Simon the cat is lovely, we spent many evenings sitting outside our room with him.

We really liked the laid-back, sociable feel here, and the other guests were friendly and respectful too. Staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room looked a little dated, but it was spotless and had everything we needed. Breakfast had a great choice, the food served during the day was just as good, and the bar had lots of drinks to choose from. It’s close enough to the beach to enjoy the atmosphere, while being far enough away to miss the chaos. We had a hire car and found free parking on the roads outside. There are friendly stray cats around, most of them gentle and affectionate, so do consider leaving them some food and water. Simon, the big white resident cat, is pictured in our photos. We loved our stay and would gladly come back. Great value for the price.

You’re only about a 5 minute walk from the old market square, with its tavernas, and the seafront is another 10-15 minutes away with plenty more places to eat. The hotel itself is small, friendly and well placed. Though not large, the rooms had good furnishings and were spotless, with regular service. Breakfast was good too, with cereal, fruit, cheeses, cooked meat, a hot buffet, toast and drinks. The pool loungers were the one frustration: by 6:00am, towels had been put on all of them. There is another option, though: you can use the pools at the Anna family hotel down the road for free if you buy drinks at the pool bar. Pefkohori was extremely busy, and at most places you needed to reserve a table for dinner.
