Peace and quiet are the main appeal of the Port Marina Hotel in Pefkohori, on the Kassandra Peninsula in Chalkidiki. The grounds are distinctive, with a large olive grove and five small buildings among the trees. Mature palms also help block the highway noise, which you can barely hear. There are plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas by the pool, a bar there, and another indoors. Guests can use exercise machines, play board games, or take children to a separate play area near the dining room. The beach is about a 10-minute walk away, with a beautiful sea view. The pebble beach is free if you’re happy without buying drinks or renting a sun lounger and umbrella. The hotel’s free minibus takes guests to the beach or Pefkohori center in about five minutes. A shuttle bus also stops by the hotel on request. The fare to Pefkohori is 2 euros and to Thessaloniki is 112 euros. The rooms are modest but clean, with basic, older furniture. The kitchenette is by the entrance and there’s a roomy fridge, though no kitchenware is provided. The beds and mattresses are comfortable, and the pillows are cosy. The food is what you’d expect from a four-star hotel. Breakfast has vegetables, the usual sausages and cheese, muesli, milk, cookies and paste, plus fruit, tasty pastries, omelets, fried eggs, and drinks. At dinner there are several meats, side dishes, soup, and meat and fish salads. Seafood changes daily, such as shrimp salad or squid rings. We had mussels one night, and small fried fish every other day. There’s a big selection of ice cream at lunch and dinner. Pefkohori has several supermarkets with reasonable prices, along with restaurants, bistros, and bakeries for different tastes and budgets. Salads at Greek taverns start at 5 euro, while meat and fish start at 11 euro. Portions are large, and at the end of a meal you’re given a nice surprise, like ice cream or a baking. This is a tradition in all the cafes and restaurants. Greeks are sociable and friendly, and almost everyone speaks English. I can only praise the Port Marina Hotel staff. The maids and waiters are charming and tactful, and the reception and bar teams are professional. Special thanks to the chefs, who cook with passion and delight guests with the range of dishes. Everything is incredibly delicious. I wish the whole hotel team good health, prosperity, and many more guests.

There were always enough sunbeds around the peaceful pool, and the whole hotel felt clean and relaxing. We were also pleased with every meal, which had plenty of fresh, tasty choices from local and international dishes. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all offered, and the dining area stayed clean and organized, with polite, efficient staff. From arrival, everything went smoothly. The staff were kind and ready to help, check-in was quick, and our clean, spacious room had a nice view. The hotel was close to shops and local attractions while still being quiet enough for a restful break. We felt well looked after and had a fantastic stay. Thanks to the team, we’d definitely book again!

The only people who made our stay better were the women serving in the restaurant and the driver. They were kind and professional. The rest of the experience at Xenios Port Marina, Pefkochori was awful, and we would never go back. Our room was old, dirty, and full of insects. Ants covered the balcony and bugs were inside too. The shower didn’t work properly, and the ceiling above it was damaged. It all felt neglected and unhygienic. We were also left to carry heavy luggage to rooms far from and above reception. When we asked for help, staff said they “don’t practice that,” even though no one had offered assistance to the women in our group. Staff, especially the men, were shockingly unwelcoming. We felt judged and uncomfortable, as though we were intruding in someone’s home instead of being on holiday. Guests clearly didn’t feel like a priority. One star, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

The food was GREAT, really tasty, and the staff were pleasant and nice. The location was great too, outside crowded Pefkohori and only 5 minutes by car from fabolous Xenia beach. I’d give it 4,5 out of 5 because the rooms are okay but could use some refurbishment, and the WiFi was bad and annoying.

The people were nice, apart from one person, but the hotel itself was terrible. The beds felt like they were from 1923, and the AC barely worked. You could only run it while in the room. All-inclusive seemed pointless since it only covered the hours when food was being served, and the food was the same every day. Given how far it is from the beach, which normally wouldn’t be a big deal, they could do a lot better as a business.
