Aqua Oliva Resort

We found the hotel peaceful, with very clean rooms and a lovely view. There’s a beach nearby with crystal-clear water, and the staff were polite and provided excellent service. A perfect place to stay in Sivota.

We’d only booked one night at the last minute as a stop on our road trip, but the setting made us want to stay longer. Tucked among the trees with access to a beach, it felt like a lovely hidden spot. We ended up extending our visit and enjoyed more of the food, nature, and peaceful surroundings. If you want a quiet, relaxing stay, this place is a great fit.

I thought beaches in Greece were free, so I was surprised when Aqua Oliva staff told me to move my chair from what they called “their” part of the beach. It happened when I tried to order drinks from the cafe, and their chief wanted to call the police. There was also some strange water falling straight onto the sand in that area.

At 208 euros a night, I was sorry we chose this hotel. Getting there was difficult: the road along the beach is narrow enough for only one car, it ends at the hotel, and the small signs are little help. Internet was extremely slow in both the room and pool bar, and there was no 4G in our room, so we left a phone on the balcony to use as a hotspot. We were given just one set of keys, which we had to leave at reception whenever we wanted the room cleaned. The bathroom water pressure was very low on the first floor, and the temperature kept changing. Every morning there were hundreds of ants on the kitchen table even though we hadn't left food out. Breakfast was poor, with lots of flies and bees around. The staff, though, were very helpful.
