Black Coast Hotel Santorini

For the price, we had a very good stay and it felt like great value. The quiet location suited us, with parking included and the beach close by. There was a lovely outdoor seating area for meals or coffee, and the pool was fantastic, fairly large, clean, with plenty of free sunbeds. It was October, so the pool bar was closed. The room had what we needed, but it was very small. The beds and pillows were comfortable, and it stayed quiet day and night except for the fridge. The TV was tiny and had a strange channel selection. There was practically no one around apart from the cleaner, and no instructions about anything. The water was salty, probably an island issue, so I don't count that against the place, but the shower barely worked and its curtain looked disgusting. The bed, table and shelves seemed clean, yet little things like dead mosquitoes on the walls suggested the overall hygiene wasn't great.

Hosts were kind and helpful, and there was parking. The pool was very good, the Wi-Fi okay, and the poolside bar served a good-sized breakfast. This little hotel is very close to Perissa/Perivolos beach. My basement room stayed cool enough at night because of where it was, though I still used the air conditioner. It was small but practical and simple, with a freezer, kettle and coffee maker, and a Greek feel. One of the upper rooms had a pool balcony.

Clean, pleasant and quiet, with the handy Euromarket close by. The beach is about a 10-minute walk. I never came across the reception desk because the employees greeted you and took you straight to your room.

The service was amazing, and the place itself is fantastic, with a lovely pool and a quiet spot near the beach. The pool water really is a little salty, as other reviews say, but only slightly, nothing like the sea. The room water tasted a bit salty too, which can affect tea, so just use bottled water in the kettle. No big deal. I also enjoyed the Perissa neighbourhood. Go to chilli restaurant, but avoid the taverna next door to it. Cheers.
