Pietra Di Mare

We were four people, a father and his three adult children, staying for three days, and had a really good time. The villa had everything we needed for cooking and personal hygiene, and everything was close and convenient. The host was friendly and available. The wifi worked well, and the pool looked clean and inviting, though we didn't have time to use it. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

The apartment was very clean, and the owners were extremely friendly. One morning, Giorgio (if I'm spelling that right) came by while we were outside and offered us bread and cookies. The location is perfect if you have a car and want to visit other cities. Rethymno is a quick drive, Chania is 45 minutes away, and Heraklion is about an hour away. The driveway climbs uphill, but the parking area is level. We loved having coffee on the patio each morning with that gorgeous view, and sitting out there again when we got back in the evening. The area is peaceful and quiet. On our first night we walked a short way down the hill to the taverna, where we had a nice beach and good food, and could still get dinner after arriving around 8:00 pm. The beach is small but handy and pleasant. There's also a convenience store just down the road for sandwiches and drinks. Highly recommend staying here.

The apartment was spotless and had a breathtaking view, and being right beside the beach made it easy to spend lazy days in the sun. Petra Di Mare is a real gem. I'd highly recommend it for a relaxing stay in Rethymno.

The rooms are quirky, but the view from the balcony is incredible, with the White Mountains stretching across to Almiros Bay. The grounds, rooms, and pool are kept spotless by Andreas and his father. They're both charming hosts who give you a warm Crete welcome. If you like morning coffee with a view and a chance to practise your Greek over a raki, this is the place. A brilliant base for visiting Rethymno. We'll be back.
