The house is in a lovely spot among olive and lemon trees, but it had several serious downsides. At 42 degrees outside, having air conditioning in only one of the three rooms was unpleasant. The bedrooms are laid out in a row, so you have to pass through every room to reach the toilet. That makes it unsuitable for four adults, though it might work for two parents and two children. The single beds were hard and short. Most frustratingly, the host came into the house while we were out. That's a big no-no, and in 20 years of renting homes I've never experienced that before.

This was my second stay here this year. The owners are friendly, helpful, and attentive, and the place is clean and tidy. It's wonderfully quiet, with everything you need for a pleasant stay on Zakynthos.

We loved our stay at The Mills House and would recommend it. The location is very quiet but still central, among olive trees with a view of the Black Cave. There's plenty of space for two adults and two children, though four adults would be cramped. It has nearly everything needed for daily life, and we had our towels changed three times during our two weeks. The owners were friendly, the key handover was easy, and they gave us fruit from their garden. When we had an issue with the faucet and shower head, it was fixed the next day. It's an older house that's been renovated, so a few windows and doors are a little wobbly, but that didn't bother us. There isn't room for a washing machine, which would've been handy. The rooms are in a line: kitchen, bathroom, smaller bedroom, then larger bedroom. The mattresses were poor, especially in the larger room. They were thin, sagged on the wooden boards, and we could feel the springs. The smaller room's mattresses were a bit better. There was very little clothes storage for four people, and the Wi-Fi was very weak.
