Faros 1 Hotel

My job booked me this hotel. The room I had was very small but very clean. I could hear the water pipes, and as a light sleeper that woke me up at night. Working 8 hours from here would be difficult. The location is great, close to everything, and the staff helped me a lot with the bureaucracy. I should mention the guy who looks like he does everything, and the servers. Other than that I recommend it.

The hotel's strongest point for me was its staff. The cleaners were lovely and did a very good job, and the breakfast and morning bar team, especially the two women and the man there, were incredibly kind and helpful. The person working the evening shift was just as nice. I hope they get bonuses and benefits. Reception wasn't especially friendly, though they did help in the end. The location is great if you're catching ferries to the islands. I was there for 11 days for work, and that was harder than it needed to be: my room was tiny, the desk wasn't suitable for working, and the room felt really uncomfortable as a workspace. I also didn't like the room's vibe. Maybe I was unlucky and got an unusually small one, or maybe they're all like that.

The staff really stood out, they were kind and knew their stuff. The rooms were comfortable too, though you can hear pretty much everything from other rooms. The little terrace at the front isn't great for a meal when motorcycles are passing. The noise makes it hard to talk, and the acoustics are rough, so eating inside is better. The hotel is only two blocks from the port, with lots of restaurants, grocery shops, and pharmacies nearby.

The hotel itself is pretty average, but the people who work there are five-star.
