Piraeus Port Hotel

The front desk gentleman was courteous and always smiling, and the rest of the staff were really nice. My room was tidy, very clean, and had everything I needed. It’s a few steps from a local grocery store and an easy walk to Dimotiko Theatro Metro Station. As a solo traveller, I found it perfect and really enjoyed my stay. Thank you.

For an extra EUR10, breakfast was great, and the rooms were clean with comfortable beds. It’s a short walk to the metro for direct connections to Athens and the Airport, and around 10 minutes on foot from ferry gates E7 to E9. There are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby, but the hotel’s street is quiet enough for a good night’s sleep. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and there’s a luggage room if you check out before you’re done exploring. For a 2-star hotel, it offers a lot of value. Stay there, you won’t regret it.

The location is handy for the port and shops, though I didn’t find the neighbourhood very pleasant. The staff made the stay difficult for me: the male receptionist on arrival and the female receptionist were curt and unwelcoming, and the woman supervising breakfast was rude. The male receptionist on the morning we checked out was the one exception. Don’t expect a smile or much charm. Breakfast cost €10 and there was plenty of it, but all the hot food was cold. The small bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and had most of what you’d need. The twin-bed mattresses were uncomfortable, water leaked from under the shower tray, the safe had no batteries, and the TV control needed new batteries too. Nobody seemed to check these things. Some guests also kept slamming doors.

I’ve stayed here three times. It’s a simple little hotel in a quiet, real neighbourhood, about a 10-minute walk from the port. The port is quite large, so check where you need to go. If you need a taxi, they’ll call one and it arrives within minutes. It does the trick.
