Kritikos Apartments

Our stay at Kritikos Apartments was a real disappointment. The website photos looked heavily edited and very different from the place in person. There was no washing machine, the old-looking stove was difficult to use, and the air conditioning could cool only one room. The Wi-Fi barely had a signal. We noticed these problems as soon as we arrived and decided to find another apartment. We told the host, but got no response. Later, we were asked to pay for two days when we would only have stayed one. The host was rude and seemed focused on the money. The apartment wasn’t worth the price, and I wouldn’t recommend spending your time here when there are much better places for a similar cost.

We had a very good experience at Kritikos Apartments, and found them to be good value for the money. We stayed in apartment 6 from August 8 to 14, 2022. I’d read recent reviews and wasn’t sure we’d chosen well, but everything was great once we checked in. Communication with Kritikos was good from our Booking reservation through check-in. The host was kind, and although we hadn’t expected it, the bed linen and towels were changed three times during our six nights. The apartment was clean and functional, with a balcony overlooking the sea and air conditioning. Free parking beside the building was another plus. The bathroom was quite small with a low ceiling, and the shower’s water heater was a bit strange, but it was acceptable. Kritikos is a five-minute walk or less from two nearby pebble beaches, and we liked both. I can’t believe anyone would rate them below four stars.

The staff were friendly, which deserves credit, and the room may sometimes have a sea view. Still, the accommodation was poor, and the rent felt very high for what it was. There was no mosquito net. The toilet was small, and without a shower curtain, water got everywhere. The hot water was hard to regulate, either too hot or too cold. The apartment is far from the village center, and the road there is in very bad condition.

We had a comfortable, pleasant stay at Kritikos, and it was a great experience. The view from our room was amazing, and the host was very kind and friendly. We’d recommend it to anyone.
