Kostantakis Winery & Residence

We took home a bottle of orange wine, and I’d highly recommend visiting Kostantakis Cave Winery and supporting the business. All the wines we tasted were delicious, and the pours were generous. Jorge gave us a detailed look at the family-owned winery’s history, how the wine is made, and the difficulties of growing grapes in a hot, dry climate. We also learned that Kostantakis is the island’s only winery and doesn’t distribute its wine beyond Milos, which made the visit feel especially distinctive. The full tour and tasting was one of my favorite things I did on the island.

The tasting was well priced and came with a small cheese board that was surprisingly good. We enjoyed the wine enough to buy a bottle to take home. At this family-run winery, the setting is unique, and the people were knowledgeable, explaining each wine in detail. We walked in and got a table for two, though I’d suggest booking ahead for a larger group. One of my favorite places in Milos.

We spent the evening at the outdoor tables by the cave, just enjoying the atmosphere. George was engaging and clearly loves his work. The tour gave us lots of information, and the wine presentations and snacks were great. There were six generous pours. A top-notch experience in Milos!

George helped make the winery feel relaxed and friendly. We toured several different areas and learned about the stages of making wine, then heard about the wines during the tasting. It was a great experience and a very informative tour.
