We found the yard shower really handy after the beach, and there’s plenty of parking. The barbecue was a lovely extra, and we used it several times. It’s also a peaceful place to come back to. The maisonette had plenty of space for all five of us, with four terraces and running water on each for rinsing beach gear. Eirini and her family took over this year and were wonderful hosts. They checked almost every day that we had what we needed, and cleaned the apartment and yard every 3-4 days. We had a great stay, and it’s a good base for families wanting to explore the beaches in south Thasos and spend evenings together.

We booked through Nikana and stayed for 7 nights. The apartment was very dirty. The dishes were so dirty we had to wash them all on the first day, and the sponge was filthy, possibly a year old. There was no toilet paper until we asked, and no supplies for cleaning. They cleaned the apartment and changed the towels only every 7 days. The bedroom cover and bedclothes were dirty too. The internet barely worked, and the beach was over 650 meters away, not 400m as advertised. We also had a very upsetting problem after leaving. I forgot my laptop in the apartment and realised when we were already in Bulgaria. I checked FindMy, and it still showed the laptop at the apartment. We called and messaged the owners several times with no answer. When the husband finally picked up after more than an hour, he said they hadn’t found it while cleaning and that a new family was staying there. He wouldn’t check right then, said I could call the next morning, and was very impolite. He promised to message me after checking in 1-2 hours, but never did. The next morning they still didn’t answer. Nikana tried to reach them too, without success at first. They got hold of the owners a few hours later, but had no new information. A friend who was still on the island went to the apartment. The owners wouldn’t let her check for the laptop with them and said only the woman owner could look, asking my friend to tell them where it was. With help from the family staying there, my friend got inside, found the laptop, and picked it up. It’s safe now and on its way back to me. I was lucky she was still there. There were problems from the start. When we arrived, we paid for the first day and gave them more than the amount due, but they kept the change, saying they’d give us a bill. We never got one. They also didn’t register our stay, so we were on the island illegally. The owners, a husband and wife around 60 or older, never checked whether we needed anything while we were there. This was the worst experience, with the worst owners. Please think twice before booking. I keep wondering what would have happened if one of us had a health problem, since they probably wouldn’t have answered.

The apartments are fully equipped and work well for couples with children. You’ll need a car to get to any of the island’s beaches.

A really nice, peaceful place with very spacious rooms.
