Elinotel Sermilia Resort - All inclusive

Our family stayed at the hotel in August 2025 on an all-inclusive package. I'd read reviews comparing the food to hospital meals and the drinks to something from a toilet, so I arrived with low expectations. What we found was completely different. The hotel really is a high-standard place. It's small, so queues were rare. Most guests seemed to be from Ukraine, Serbia, and Romania. The hotel is in the little village of Psakoudia, with a couple of taverns, shops, and a game center right nearby. A big thank you to the main manager, Vikrotija Kontnarskyte. Her professionalism and readiness to help made a difference when she helped us change rooms and sort out other questions. The staff generally were friendly and quick to deal with any issues. The beach is the hotel's own private one, a two-minute walk across the road, and it's cleaned daily at 8 p.m. The water was very warm, and we could swim for over an hour without getting cold. There's a wide shallow stretch and a sandy entrance, which is great for kids. Pedal boats, SUP boards, and kayaks are available to rent for 20€/hour. There was lots of tasty food to choose from: mussels, octopus, shrimp, several kinds of olives, olive paste, sun-dried tomatoes, blue cheese, goat cheese, assorted spreads, fruit, and soups, among other things. The one downside was that tables weren't always cleared and reset quickly, so we sometimes had to ask the waiters. Now and then there also weren't enough dishes. Ice cream was served in the restaurant three times a day in four flavors, and was available all day at the pool bar too. The drinks were tasty, though some alcoholic cocktails seemed a little diluted. Kostas at the poolside bar made especially good cocktails. We particularly liked the mojito, Baileys, Campari, frappe, and freddo cappuccino. The hotel also has a great top-floor bar with a magnificent sea view, especially at sunset. The rooms were new and clean. Housekeeping came daily, with fresh bed linen every three days. I'd avoid the ground floor, where it was hotter and there were more mosquitoes, and the terrace opened directly onto the street towards the road.

We came in September and had a great time. I was a little unsure after reading some of the reviews, but none of those complaints matched our experience. The resort was lovely, the staff were kind, and we had everything we needed. I'll remember it as one of my best holidays, and I'd be very happy to come back. A beautiful Psakoudia beach is just across the road, with sunbeds and umbrellas set aside for Sermilia resort guests. There's a pool too, and it was empty around 90 percent of the time. Shops and plenty of restaurants were within walking distance. Our rooms were clean and cozy, with a nice view, air conditioning, and all the amenities we needed. Some guests mention a bad smell. In Greece, toilet paper goes in the bin rather than being flushed, but we didn't notice any unpleasant smell in the rooms or elsewhere in the resort. It smelled like perfume instead. When the shower head broke on the third day, I told the manager and it was fixed within minutes. The food was fresh and delicious, with something new to try each time, including fish, pork, beef, and pasta. I'm not sure why the other reviews were so negative about it. The staff were friendly all the way from the manager to the reception desk and bartenders. We arrived a few hours before check-in, and the receptionist made sure we were looked after. They had the rooms ready ahead of schedule and were incredibly kind.

This was one of the worst holidays I've had, and I can't recommend the place. For what we paid, the service was far below what we expected. Staff made promises before taking our money, but after that they stopped replying to our complaints. They came across as irresponsible and uncaring. The room was dirty, the air conditioning didn't work, and no one offered an explanation or a fix. The fridge was broken, the bathroom wasn't hygienic, and the cleaning staff didn't come every day. Meals were terrible, with the same dishes at lunch and dinner and no variety. Breakfast was poor too, with very few options.

The village has little to offer for entertainment, and there isn't any designated place for kids. On top of that, there's a daily 15 euro tax because the hotel is rated 5*. The room wasn't cleaned daily, which is what I'd expect at that rating. The bathrobe was ribbed, and the room phone didn't work when I tried to call reception. The pool was unclean and only worked on and off, and the beach line wasn't good either. The food was disgusting, and the drinks smelled like a toilet. Terrible place, just terrible.
