Melissa Gold Coast Apart-Hotel

The staff were the only real positive, along with an okay pool. The room had no mosquito nets and wasn't very clean. Since it was next to the road, it was very noisy at night. The owners acted as if we should be grateful just to be allowed to stay there.

I spent 14 days in the apartments belonging to Hotel Melissa Gold, at the end of June and start of July. All praise. The beach was excellent, and everything was clean, with lots of flowers and palm trees. The pine forest was quiet, the pool was clean, and the staff were very friendly. I recommend it for families with or without children. Greetings.

The service was a big disappointment. Vasilije, the agency representative, didn't seem concerned about complaints and wasn't willing to sort out any problems. We booked through Astra Travel agency, but our stay at Hotel Melissa Gold fell well short of what was offered. The rooms were very small and damp, with barely any storage for clothes: just one wardrobe rod and six hangers, no shelves or other space. Getting to the terrace dining area meant squeezing between the double bed and the children's bed, which was awkward and uncomfortable. There were no mosquito nets on the windows. The receptionist said they weren't needed because we'd sleep with the windows closed and the air conditioning on, which felt unprofessional and unacceptable. The air conditioning remote was provided only on the first day, with a 10 euro deposit, even though the agency website says air conditioning is included in the accommodation price. The kitchen was in very poor shape: only one stove burner worked, and the utensils were damaged and scattered, making cooking difficult. For the price and what the agency promised, this accommodation was completely inadequate. Selling these conditions as a higher-quality package is unacceptable. I don't recommend it!

The loungers weren’t packed tightly together, which was nice. We paid 15 euros for one umbrella, two sunbeds and a chair, with bar spending required. That seemed fair to me. Service was a bit slow, though they had a happy hour in the afternoon with large draft beers for 3 euros. The wine came with a generous serving of salty nuts.
