Karalis City Hotel

We really liked the location and the service, and breakfast was great too. Ask for scrambled eggs if you stay. We were in a seaside room, which I'd recommend. The only things that held it back from five stars were a broken shower handle and a breaker that made noise at night when we ran the air conditioner.

The breakfast was enough, and the people working in that area were nice and clean. The room itself was a letdown: it felt like a dungeon compared with the photos, the pillows were huge and awful, and the bathroom was tiny. The showerhead was clogged with calcium, so the water flow was weak, and the shower design let water spill out into the bathroom. At check-in, the evening front desk woman was rude and put us in room 206, right beside the elevator, where every bit of hallway noise carried. There were sea-view rooms available, even though we checked in later. That was the worst hospitality we have had across five trips to Greece, and her attitude didn't help. At checkout, another front desk woman insisted aggressively that I owed for two breakfasts already included in our rate. I showed her the documentation twice before she accepted it. Both front desk employees gave poor customer service. If we're ever back in town, I'd stay somewhere else.

We had a great breakfast, with just about everything you could think of, and the staff were polite. The rooms are nicely renovated, and the hotel is right in central Pylos with an amazing view.

Our top-floor room stayed quiet with the doors shut, even though the road was busy and noisy when we sat out on the balcony. The hotel looks over Pylos Harbour and is in a fantastic spot. Staff were really helpful with beach and restaurant suggestions. Parking across the street is limited, but we usually managed to find a space. Highly recommended.
