Perivoli Country Hotel & Retreat

After a long trip in the heat, the homemade lemonade they offered when we arrived was very welcome. We had a great one-night stay. The room was spacious and clean, with a very comfortable bed and a good bathroom, and breakfast in the morning was great, five courses!

A quick tip for anyone heading there: ask the owners for precise directions before setting off. My navigation kept trying to hide the place, and you don’t want to lose time finding it. We booked at the last minute and arrived quite late, but the staff welcomed us wonderfully and went out of their way to make us comfortable. They took care of all our requests, including thoughtfully extending our pool access. After a long journey, that swim felt like pure bliss. The rooms were modernly furnished, clean, and incredibly comfortable, a lovely place to rest after exploring. The setting is breathtaking too, with magnificent views across the surrounding hills and a well-maintained, inviting pool. To the owners, thank you for creating such a welcoming haven. Your care for guests really shows. A note with a suggested route or a few landmarks on the booking confirmation might make arrival even easier. Efharisto poli for an unforgettable stay!

We spent three nights here and left feeling rested and grateful. It was a peaceful, beautiful stay, and we’re already hoping to return. After the energy and bustle of Athens, it was just the getaway we needed. Set among olive trees, the hotel is a calm retreat about 15 minutes from Nafplio, while still close to remarkable historical places. We visited Palamidi Fortress in Nafplio and the ancient theater of Epidaurus, and also enjoyed a nearby wine tasting. The staff were kind, always smiling, and ready to help. They arranged a tour at Skouras winery, which was fantastic. At sunset, we had a glass of rosé from the winery on the lovely patio, with a breathtaking view. The atmosphere makes it easy to relax and recharge. There’s no restaurant on site, but the room has a fridge for snacks and drinks. Breakfast was delightful, generous, and delicious, though it isn’t a buffet. Our time here felt like stepping outside of time. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The road is something to be aware of: the hotel is at the end of a country road that gets worse as you go. The last half is a narrow single lane, gravel in places, and some parts have a sharp drop right beside the road with no guard rails. That may intimidate some drivers. ALERT!!! Google maps eventually sends you off-road onto a path you can’t navigate. Follow it until you start seeing directional signs from the Perivoli hotel, then follow those signs. The scenery is lovely from the room balcony, the large shared patio outside the bar, or by the pool, especially at sunrise and sunset. The hotel sits on a hilltop overlooking a picturesque valley with olive, orange, and pomegranate orchards. Staff were pleasant, kind, and helpful throughout. Rooms are large and comfortable, with good air conditioning and a nice modern bathroom with amenities.
