The beds were an easy 10/10 for comfort, and the hot tub was set at a perfect 36°C. Each morning we had a complimentary breakfast at Penelope’s, which was excellent, especially the omelette. Irene offered to arrange taxis or shuttles whenever we needed, and she gave us some great ideas for what to do the next morning. When I later asked the bellboy for a wine opener, he had one brought to the room within minutes. We arrived from the airport shuttle after midnight and Irene and Tony welcomed us warmly at Brusco Café. Tony carried both suitcases upstairs, while Irene showed us around the suite and said we could message her anytime on WhatsApp. At checkout, she came by to say goodbye and offered a late checkout until noon since our flight was later. Tony carried our bags downstairs too. I'd recommend hiring a car. Valsamo is around 300m above sea level, and walking back up after six wines at Estate Argyros was memorable! Oia, in the north, is about a 30-minute drive. We had a seamless and genuinely enjoyable stay, with excellent hospitality from start to finish.

Valsamo has a real sense of heart, and the Cycladic architecture is beautiful wherever you look. The beds were wonderfully soft for the few days we were there, and every detail felt carefully considered. The room smelled amazing, and the staff were kind and helpful. One of my best stays in recent years, and an experience I'll remember for a while.

We had the honeymoon suite, with the most incredible views, and the hot tub was just perfect. The host was so helpful, offering recommendations and booking taxis for us. It's in a stunning, quaint location. Highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed!

The terrace hot tub overlooking the view was my favorite part, just perfect. We stayed in the gorgeous honeymoon suite, and our host showed us in on the first night and carried our luggage. There isn't a front desk, but the 24-hour concierge on WhatsApp was really helpful for getting information about the island.

Pyrgos turned out to be one of my best travel decisions. I got very wise advice to avoid staying in one of the more popular spots along the Caldera coast, and I'm glad I took it. Pyrgos is charming and beautifully situated, away from the beaten path, with some of Santorini's best views and a number of amazing restaurants I'd recommend. I stayed at Valsamo Suites in a traditional cave loft apartment on the hillside, with commanding views of Santorini and the village below. It was well appointed, though there was no full kitchen. I was happy to eat at nearby local places or take a quick drive to the more heavily touristed spots, and the balcony and views held my attention more than cooking would have. Traveling alone, I had privacy, comfort, and a friendly atmosphere throughout. Christos and Andreas were available anytime for requests or advice while respecting my personal space. The whole experience was spot on, and I'll be back.
