Marina Bay Hotel

The bay and surrounding hills make for a beautiful setting, and the rooms were comfortable, clean, and well equipped. Housekeeping came daily, and the friendly cleaning staff did a great job keeping everything orderly. I also liked the well-kept garden in front of the hotel, a nice place for coffee in the morning or a drink in the evening. The pool is medium-sized, not huge, but perfectly fine for a relaxing swim. Service at the front desk was a letdown because it was often unattended, so getting basic help or information could be difficult. There is no spa, massage service, or gym, which could disappoint anyone looking for those facilities. We were also charged for sunbeds and umbrellas on the lovely beach right in front of the hotel, even as hotel guests. We were told another owner ran that area, yet the official receipt came from “Marina Bay,” which made the arrangement feel misleading and disappointing. Even with those issues, Hotel Marina Bay was comfortable, clean, and well located. Better service and clearer beach charges would make a big difference. I had a pleasant stay and think it could reach five stars.

We stopped there to eat straight from the beach. Don't go. The prices were high, and both the food and serving quality were very, very poor. It was the only time in Greece we had to pay before eating, and once the food arrived, we understood why.

The resort is nice, which makes the restaurant experience all the more disappointing. The male waiter there was rude and impolite, kept making fun of customers, insisted he was right, and never apologized. I won't return, and hope others don't either while he is working there.

We were staying in a nearby villa and went to the hotel for dinner. As non-residents, we were told to order and pay at the bar, which was fine. The service after that was baffling. One meal came out first, and when my husband offered to collect it, the waitress had already left it on a random side table before coming over to tell us to get it. The same happened with the other four meals, 15-20 minutes later. A little after that, she came from the bar to say our drinks were ready for collection too. Everyone else eating there, presumably residents, was served at their table. We were left completely flabbergasted by the whole thing and definitely won't go back.
