Ammos Suites

The location is perfect, right across from the beach among lots of restaurants. It's a good 15-minute walk to the old town, though you don't need to go there every time since there are good restaurants nearby. The downstairs bar makes great cocktails, and the staff are friendly. Anna was so nice! Guests get free sunbeds when they order a drink, and we never had trouble finding two together at any time of day. Still, I wouldn't call this a four-star hotel. Three stars feels right. Breakfast was below what I'd expect from a four-star place. The free filtered coffee was terrible, and anything better cost extra. I've stayed in plenty of two- and three-star hotels that offered more. The breakfast selection was just okay, as other reviews had said. I would have liked more hot dishes, local food, and gluten-free choices. We also had a serious problem with our room that we felt wasn't properly dealt with. We told the manager straight away, but there was no apology in the end. We even suggested changing rooms, but that wasn't possible. Workers came in several times that we know of, sometimes keeping us out for as long as an hour, so we had to buy ourselves drinks while waiting. No complimentary drink vouchers or anything else were offered. As a restaurant manager for nearly 20 years, I would have expected that. We did have a good experience in some ways, but unfortunately I wouldn't recommend it to friends or family.

The beach bar was a highlight, a lovely spot to unwind with a drink and feel the sea breeze. But what made our stay at Ammos Suites in Rethymno special was the team. Everyone, from the cleaners to the managers, was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. Our room was beautiful, very comfortable, and spotlessly clean, so we felt at home right away. The view of the beach was stunning, and waking up to it each morning felt like a dream. We left relaxed, well cared for, and grateful. This is the kind of hospitality that turns a great holiday into an unforgettable one. We couldn't recommend Ammos Suites more, and we're already looking forward to coming back.

We really enjoyed how calm and comfortable the room was. It was spacious, modern, and nicely designed, and the whole property was kept spotless. The beach is only a few steps away, with sunbeds and drinks available when you stay at the suite. Getting into the city center takes about 15 minutes on foot, and there are loads of places to eat there, from upscale restaurants to cozy, home-style spots. Breakfast had plenty of choices and tasted great. The elevator made the upper floors easy to reach, and staff cleaned the pool every day. Amnos Suite was a great pick for us, definitely recommend it.

We hadn't planned on visiting, but it turned into such a lovely experience. They welcomed us with really good coffee and even treated us to a birthday cake. The room was great, breakfast was great too, and the service made it all feel special. Would absolutely recommend. Thank you!
