Melrose Rethymno by Mage Hotels

The sauna, pool and relaxing atmosphere were particular highlights, and the hotel facilities were excellent. I stayed for a week at Mel Rose Hotel in Rethymno, Crete, and the place was well maintained and well located. My room was beautiful and comfortable, and it was spotless every day thanks to the housekeeping lady, whose kindness made me feel at home. The ladies at breakfast were top-notch too, always friendly, attentive and welcoming. I’ll definitely return, and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Rethymno.

The service was amazing, with everyone being friendly and welcoming. The hotel is clean and well maintained, and it really does look like the online pictures. The beach is a minute away, and the city center is within walking distance.

The location puts everything close by: restaurants, the beach, and the old town, which is a 10-15 minute walk. Prices are ok, and the breakfast is very good, especially the eggs cooked to order by the staff, baked, scrambled or poached. The hotel itself and the rooms were clean and tidy. Nearly all the rooms are spacious and modern. There’s an outdoor swimming pool that isn’t heated, with beds and free towels, plus a heated spa and fitness facilities in the basement. Before checking in I made a special request, and the staff were able to accommodate it. We’ll come back.

We spent the August 15 celebration here, and everything went so well. Breakfast had lots of choices and fresh ingredients, and the staff were helpful at reception and in the dining area. Our room was spotless, with a fantastic sea view. The pool was clean and never too busy, so there was always a sunbed available. We’ll definitely be back!
