Minos Hotel

Breakfast was fantastic, with plenty of choice, drinks were reasonably priced, and we enjoyed both pools. We had a lovely week, and the rooms were nicely decorated, fairly modern, and kept clean and tidy. The trouble was our broken room door. Even after repeated complaints, it took five days to get it properly fixed, leaving the room insecure. There was a safe for valuables, but the situation still wasn't ideal. A few mornings, noise from cleaning staff talking woke us up early.

The Children Pool was the highlight for us and gave us loads of fun with our child. The hotel is right in front of the beach, with plenty of amenities nearby. Our room was well equipped, if a little small, and had a great shower and a useful outdoor clothes rack. Cleaning staff were especially efficient and came every day. Everyone was very welcoming. It was crowded much of the time, and the main pool was busy except near closing. Pool hours were quite restrictive, from 10:30am to 18:30. Breakfast had variety, but the quality wasn't great. There's lots around the hotel, but the old town is still a 30-minute walk away. Music played loudly every day until 11pm, so we couldn't get proper rest before then. It felt like a family party hotel. If you're after a social family trip, it could suit you, but not if you want a restful, comfortable stay.

We stayed at Minos hotel for 12 nights and plan to book again next year. It's in a great spot, within walking distance of the beach, supermarket, and restaurants. The hotel and pool were clean and tidy, with the pool cleaned daily. All the staff were lovely and helpful. I have an autistic son, and they were accepting of him and his needs, especially the entertainment team. A big thank you to Timothy and Erica for all the kindness they showed him.

We had a terrible stay from beginning to end. Our room was three streets from the hotel's main lobby, and the hotel was still expanding while we were there, so expect noise. The city itself, apart from the seaside front street, was dirty, with poorly maintained buildings. Check-in took 2-3 hours while staff tried to sort out confusion because our reservation hadn't registered, although the payment had. We had to ask countless times before getting the room. Nobody even came to tell us when the problem was sorted, and we would've likely waited longer if we hadn't kept pushing. At breakfast the next day, the restaurant manager made a scene because we took a table for four by the pool instead of one for two. We were a couple, but there weren't any two-seat tables by the pool. The restaurant was empty since we eat early, and oddly, he didn't challenge anyone else over the same thing during our stay. A complete deal breaker.
