Steris Elegant Beach Hotel

We found it comfortable and clean, with a nice atmosphere that made it easy to relax by the beach. The property is right next to the beautiful beach, and its convenient location and comfortable accommodation made for a pleasant stay. Good value for a relaxing getaway in one of Greece's most charming destinations.

The hotel restaurant is one of the best in Rethymno, and the waiters always help you pick something good. Maria at reception was kind and helpful too. The rooms have been newly renovated and refurbished, and the location is excellent, just across from the beach. For sure, we'll stay at Steris Beach Hotel again.

We had a nice time in Rhetymno and were very satisfied with what we paid for the quality. The location is great: walk across the street to the beach, or follow the beach promenade for about 10 min to the city center. The hotel also gets you a discount on sunbeds and umbrellas, so a double sunbed for 7€ for the day isn't much. The modern rooms were always clean, and the cleaning staff deserve praise. Reception was friendly and helpful, including ordering a cab for us. Just remember to ask for the safe key separately, it costs 1,50€ per night. There's a nice pool with a few sunbeds, but no sunshades, so it can be very hot and sunny there. For a 3-star hotel, I found breakfast had quite a bit of room to improve. It was minimal, with the usual basics, and sometimes you had to hope there was enough of certain items. The orange juice, for example, was often gone, so we had to wait for it to be refilled. I understand they may keep supplies and quantities low because the restaurant was usually almost empty in the morning and they don't want much leftover food, but it was still inconvenient. My fried eggs, which you have to request separately, were served quite nicely every day. Thank you for everything!

We came as a family of 4 and decided on the first day to book another hotel. In the TWO room hotel room there was only ONE double bed, plus two extra "beds" that weren't really beds, as shown in the picture below. They were horrible to sleep in. The service was bad, and breakfast was poor, with no fruit or anything fresh. The service fell below any standards. One staff member cleaned the food state and took some food with their hands and ate it. Another staff member was smoking inside the kitchen. There was NO PARKING. If you're coming by car, finding a spot is impossible. Before we arrived, hotel staff told us there was always plenty of parking, but in July there wasn't any at all. The swimming pool was even smaller than it looked in the picture. I can't recommend this hotel.
