Dolphin Apartments

This was the worst place I’ve ever stayed, and I absolutely do not recommend it. The experience was awful, and I’d tell people to avoid it. The electricity kept cutting out because of load shedding. The sewage and toilets were clogged and dirty, service was very poor, and communication with customers was terrible. The buffet was always closed without any explanation. Even though it was around 40°C, guests were told not to set the air conditioning above 17°C to avoid power cuts. At 24°C, it gave no cold air and the airflow was very weak. The internet was almost never working and seemed to be off all the time.

A lovely little family-run hotel, not another soulless chain. The owner was great, and they checked on us every day. They’d even bring us chips when they thought we were hungry. We got much more than we paid for, and the customer service was excellent. We’ll come back and recommend it to friends. It’s a fairly small place, about a 15-minute walk from the beach, with a bus stop right in front for day trips. Don’t expect everything to be new, though. It’s the cheapest place on Faliraki Beach.

Voula made our holiday. She’s the loveliest woman we’ve ever met, and made us homemade pizza when we arrived. She was generous all week, made us feel right at home, and works incredibly hard. The hotel was everything we could have asked for and more. Honestly, I don’t know how anyone could put it down. Thanks for everything, Voula, and to the rest of Dolphin :)

The rooms and furniture are old, but that didn’t stop us having an amazing stay. The host and family were wonderful and did everything they could to make our time in Rhodes special. 👏🏻
