Club Marmara Doreta Beach Resort & Spa All Inclusive

The hotel was nice, with a good beachfront location and lovely pools, and we really enjoyed our holiday. The girls at the pool bar were very friendly. There were mostly French tourists. The food wasn’t great.

We had a wonderful holiday, and this hotel deserves top marks for a 4-star place. It’s one of the best 4-star hotels we’ve stayed in, and I’d happily recommend it. The staff were the highlight: incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional. Special thanks to the reception ladies and to Maria and Maria at the bar, as well as all the other employees. The hotel is attractive and well maintained, with a beautifully renovated lobby and restaurant. Its pools are excellent, with a good size and depth, and the beach is right next door. We also really liked the varied food, with something for everyone. I do have a few suggestions. All the entertainment was conducted in French, and because it involved a lot of speaking, our family couldn’t really take part. We felt discriminated against, which shouldn’t happen at a hotel welcoming people from many countries. The daytime entertainment was also far too loud in our opinion. Pool music can be nice, but it doesn’t need to play at such high volume for almost the whole day. Some quiet is part of a relaxing holiday too. Our room was very good overall, but there was an unpleasant sewage smell coming from the bathroom drain. The hotel immediately offered us another room, which we appreciated. I think the smell could be fixed simply and inexpensively by fitting proper drain traps, or siphons, to stop odours coming back through the pipes.

The hotel was clean, the staff were very friendly, and there was a good range of food. The alcoholic drinks weren't great. I came back from a week there in August 2015, and the lack of air conditioning in the public areas was a real problem. It was hot in the reception, dining room, lobby, and inside bar, which was always empty because of the heat. I'd have rated it four stars if those areas had AC too.

The resort sits in beautiful surroundings, and the people there were lovely. There was usually plenty of good food, with the selection changing, and the staff treated us pleasantly. The only possible drawback is how close it is to the airport. I loved my stay.
