Rhodos Horizon Resort

The room was small, and if you're on the top floor there aren't enough lifts. Still, the hotel is really nice and in a perfect spot, across the road from the sea with views of Turkey. The food is great, the drinks are local, and the pool area is lovely with plenty of sunbeds. If you leave your things on a lounger for too long, staff will move them so others can use it, which I think is fair. Bar staff weren't always the friendliest. All in all, a good holiday.

The food selection at dinner is tremendous, though I would've liked it hotter. Our room on the fifth floor is a good size but short on storage, with no drawers for underwear, socks or folded clothes. There is a wardrobe and safe, and the hotel is spotless. The service has been very good so far, on our first day of seven. It's a good location, a short walk into Rhodes, and the hop-on-hop-off bus stops outside. It costs 20 Euros for the day.

The restaurant staff were excellent, soon learning our faces and which drinks we liked. The food, service, room and massage were all excellent too, and Katia gave my massage. I stayed for 7 nights in October last year with a friend, and we both had a beautiful time. I couldn't fault the hotel. I loved it so much that I'm going back in April. You should check it out for yourself if you want a great holiday.

A decent hotel in a fantastic spot, but small details and overbooking let it down. It's only a 15-20 minute walk to Rhodes old town. The buffet is plentiful and mostly good, though sometimes bland and cold. The included drinks selection is reasonable but limited, and the restaurant's self-service soft drink machines weren't working. At night there's also a two-drink limit at the bars, which is frankly stupid when you're in a party of 3. The rooms are good, with a little wear and tear that I assume will be fixed over winter at the end of the season. Pool areas were clean and tidy, the water was very clean, and getting sunbeds wasn't a problem. The pools themselves looked like they needed a refit, and their walls need a good clean. The biggest letdown was being moved to a sister hotel on my first night. They said it was 4*, but it isn't. TUI seemed uninterested and thought a spa voucher I didn't want was enough compensation. The TUI rep let on this had been happening a lot, so be prepared for the disruption.
