The all-inclusive offer feels like a complete con. The hotel is old and tired, and the locals don’t recommend it. There are 1,200 disgruntled clients, and things are so bad that the travel company’s CEO came yesterday to see for himself. Staff won’t speak to our travel company. The dining room is badly understaffed, the food is cold or barely warm, and cutlery and cups keep running out. Getting into meals is worse than the old January sales. Some rooms have no working water. There are only one or two single euro sockets for charging. The door keycards are hit and miss, mainly because the batteries in the locks need changing. I used to fit them, so I know.

The all-inclusive food was the biggest letdown: there wasn’t much variety, the quality didn’t impress, and the same dishes got boring after a few days. Staff also came across as cold, and at times it felt as though tourists were a burden instead of a priority. The Rodos Palace Hotel is decent in terms of its structure and position. The rooms are spacious, fairly comfortable, and suitable for a few days, while the cleaning was acceptable with no major issues. It’s an okay choice if you want a good location and roomy accommodation, but the service and all-inclusive experience didn’t meet expectations.

After just one day, this has been terrible. Check-in took forever last night, and even with all-inclusive orange ribbons we had to queue for ages just to get into the restaurant. They ask for your room number for everything. Despite having plenty of staff, it takes 20-25 minutes to get a glass of water or wine, and the food dishes run empty. A bottle of water for the room costs extra, and coffee costs money even though there’s a kettle. The pool was closed when we arrived. If you need anything, they send you from one place to another. Nobody seems willing to make a decision or fix a problem. They evict guests but can’t look after them. Those four stars fell away and turned out to be gravel.

An easy ride gets you into Rhodes town, so the location gives you a quiet feel with nightlife nearby when you want it. I spent a long weekend at Rodos Palace with mates and honestly loved it. The rooms were clean, much bigger than I expected, with a comfy bed and AC that actually worked. The huge pool was great for relaxing after the beach, and the hotel’s private beach strip made swimming easy without battling crowds. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, including fruit, yogurt, and proper fried eggs, enough to fuel a day exploring. The staff were friendly and sorted a taxi when our plans changed last minute. Good value for the stay, and I’d totally go back. 10/10. Anastasia from guest relations was very friendly and professional, yamas.

The dinner queue was long every night, so we ordered food elsewhere. The wait wasn’t worth it for what they served, and I’ve added a picture of the line one night. The food was often not very hot, mostly mush, with no fries or options for picky eaters beyond bread and butter. The all-inclusive drinks were limited, stopped at 11pm, and staff seemed to pick and choose when it could be used. The snack bar and supposedly all-inclusive cafe weren’t open. You have to pay for everything, and there was literally nothing to do. Everyone looked bored. We stayed five nights and had a terrible experience because nothing was as advertised. It seemed like a pensioners’ hotel, full of older people, no offence, so I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone under 40 or families with children, especially picky eaters. Every bad review is correct. My partner’s jewellery went missing from our room even though we had the do not disturb sign up. When we raised it with reception, they sent the cleaners back the next day to ask if they could come in and look. The room hadn’t even been cleaned after the jewellery was taken, they’d only made the bed. We were told staff couldn’t be accused without proof, then asked for the certificate that came with the jewellery. The best thing was probably being driven up to our room. It’s pushing a 3/5. Several staff members agreed the hotel isn’t up to 5* standards, and I think that says enough. Overall, a bad hotel. Don’t come!
