Star Hotel

The rooms are very nice and clean, and the staff are really friendly. The place is a bit Spartan, but very quiet. Don’t rely on every photo, though, the rooms had been newly renovated when I visited this year. There’s no breakfast, but a supermarket is just around the corner, and there are a few breakfast places on the way to the Old Town.

Pantelis became a good friend during our four days at Star Hotel. He and his daughter were warm and welcoming, and helped us with everything. It really felt like staying in a family home. The hotel is spotless and recently renovated, and looked much more modern than the current Google photos. Such a genuine, kind owner. We highly recommend it, 10 stars from us, not just 5! ⭐️

The room was very clean, but our stay had several serious problems. The single bed wasn’t very comfortable. On the first day, the room was cleaned without us asking or giving permission. Our clothes were moved and folded, and with no “Do Not Disturb” or cleaning card, we had no way to control room service. When we asked them not to clean on the last day, they agreed. My brother-in-law was questioned about his residence permit by the owner and accused of having a fake one. He had to show student documents, tickets and other proof, but staff still weren’t satisfied and said they wanted to call the police. Nobody apologised, and it felt very unprofessional. Other guests also said cleaning staff came in without notice, opened luggage and moved personal items. The manager responded to them loudly and disrespectfully. The place was clean, but it felt more like a guesthouse than a hotel, with poor professionalism and little respect for guests’ privacy.

The owner and his daughter are very welcoming, and the rooms are clean and recently renovated. Prices are fair, the location is nice, with a bakery nearby and the beach just a short walk away. I’d be happy to return!
