It’s cozy and feels like the kind of place I grew up in. The villa is spacious, traditional but modern, and clean, with really sweet hosts. Since finding it, I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve come back.

My favorite part was sitting outside with friends by the pool, sharing delicious food as the sun went down over that stunning view. villa Evakri has a lovely look, blending modern touches with traditional furniture, and really does have everything for a great stay. The hosts were kind and inspiring, answered all our questions, and had things ready before we arrived. It was clean, and their warm welcome and hospitality were the best. The location is beautiful, though I’d recommend renting a car. Many attractions are near Heraklion, and gorgeous turquoise-water beaches are just a short drive away. Staying here was amazing and unforgettable. We truly appreciated how welcoming the hosts were.

We felt welcome right away, with thoughtful treats, and even received lovely gifts when it was time to leave. The villa was spacious, clean, and had a lovely pool. Our hosts treated us to delicious traditional dishes and fresh vegetables from their garden. They were wonderfully hospitable and gave us great tips for sights, restaurants, and beaches. A local beach just a few minutes away by car had clean water and a peaceful feel. The nearby tavernas served incredible food, and the hospitality there was great too, with free desserts always offered. The views of the mountains, sea, and Heraklion lights at night were breathtaking. We can’t wait to return and highly recommend Villa Evakri.

The garden is well kept, and there’s a private pool, with a lovely view over the sea and the gulf of Heraklion. The house has a tasteful design that brings together local materials and Cretan lifestyle, feeling simple, fresh, and warm while still original. The hosts are very friendly too. I absolutely recommend villa Evakri for an exquisite, authentic experience.

The pool was great for both grown-ups and kids, shallow enough for a child but deep enough for an adult. And the photos really showed what to expect. The house and its unforgettable surroundings are beautiful, and our warm, welcoming host, along with the sweetest little dog, made us feel right at home. We wanted for nothing.
