Traditional Apartment in Elounda

The pool is small and unheated, but it’s private and has a nice view. There’s plenty of room for two, and the price was really good. We didn’t have the bait-and-switch experience mentioned in some other reviews, though we were here very early in the season. There are some things to know: basic kitchen supplies like oil and salt were missing, and there wasn’t proper cutlery. The electrics were strange, with lights and plugs working unpredictably. The outdoor parking area had wood and a mattress lying around, so it wasn’t very tidy. The neighboring dog barked through the night and morning, so bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. On checkout day, the cleaner knocked at 9am even though checkout was 11am, then waited outside for us to leave. It made the last morning feel rushed instead of relaxing.

The listing showed lovely photos, but the place we booked suddenly wasn’t available because of a major issue, electrical in our case, and we were moved to this unit instead. It felt misleading, and I felt cheated. This isn’t a complete dump, but it’s an awkward place with no amenities, and it wasn’t what had been advertised.

We loved the unusual feel of the open rooms and the view from the terrace was breathtaking. House Agyro is a beautiful place with a real sense of history. Thank you so much for everything, we’d happily recommend it.

We booked this as an Airbnb, but the place we reserved wasn’t available and this was offered as the alternative. It felt like an odd space with no real architectural thought behind it, and the facilities weren’t enough. The beds were uncomfortable, there were no utensils, and the air conditioning was tiny and underpowered. It was misrepresented.
