Phaea Blue, a member of SLH

The staff and customer service were the best parts of our stay. Everyone was professional and went out of their way to help, and the restaurant was high quality. We enjoyed our time here, but the price didn't feel in line with what was offered. We look for small hotels with an authentic boutique feel, and Phaea Blue didn't have that. It felt like a large hotel, which makes sense after learning it was rebranded and remarketed in 2024. The website and marketing oversell the boutique angle. Some areas felt dated: the rooms had all the amenities, but the decor looked very early 2000s and needs refreshing to justify the prices. The pool area was a bit shabby too, and the children's playground was unkempt, with weeds growing.

The Phāea Farmers Feast was a real highlight. We shared an authentic Cretan dinner under the stars, with local produce and lovely stories, and it was unforgettable. We also explored the coast by caique and swam in incredibly clear blue water. It felt like having our own little slice of paradise. Our room was stylish and comfortable, with thoughtful touches that made it hard to leave. The food, cocktails and service were consistently amazing, and you could feel the care behind everything. From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us warmly. The calm, elegant atmosphere and breathtaking views put us straight into holiday mode. It truly felt like a magical dream of a stay, one that stays with you. Can't wait to return! 💙

We were disappointed by the construction noise at the other hotel property. Before booking, we raised our concerns and were told there would be no construction during the summer season, but that wasn't what we found on arrival. Jackhammering and vehicle noise could be heard all day. It was so loud in our original room that it woke us even through closed doors. For a luxury resort charging these prices, the owner shouldn't be building on the property during the open season. It overshadowed much of the otherwise lovely experience and left our honeymoon ending on a disappointing note. The hotel was beautiful, the staff were helpful, and the food was delicious. We ate at the farmers feast and blue door, and also had an excellent massage at the spa. My biggest recommendation is to wait until construction on the other property is complete before staying here.

The resort was calm, elegant and beautifully designed, with a lovely mix of luxury and Cretan charm. Waking up to the view each morning felt like a dream. What really made our honeymoon unforgettable, though, was how warmly the staff welcomed us and went out of their way to make us feel special. Everyone we met was genuine and professional, a 10/10 experience. There was even a complimentary bottle of champagne waiting in our room, a thoughtful surprise that made our first evening feel extra romantic. The decor and service showed so much attention to detail. If you're thinking of Phaea Blue for a special occasion, don't hesitate. We're already dreaming about coming back.
