Hotel Club Maria Sidari

My only complaint is that a week wasn’t long enough. We came back a few weeks ago from a fantastic stay at Club Maria Hotel, and I’d posted a review that didn’t appear, so I wanted to make sure it wasn’t missed. It’s a lovely small complex with a family feel, ideal for relaxing. The location is a real plus. It’s just off the main street, close enough to walk to beaches, shops, bars and restaurants, but set back enough for peaceful evenings without the noise. From the moment we arrived, Alexia the manager made us feel welcome. She runs the place with care and attention, and was always willing to help. George at the pool bar was an absolute legend, always ready for a chat and a laugh, and brought a lot of warmth and fun to our days by the pool. The staff were all happy, friendly and helpful. I can’t recommend Club Maria enough and am already looking forward to going back.

I didn’t like the location or the owner’s inflexible and unreasonable response. We mixed up our reservations, but had checked beforehand and were told they’d fix it. In the end we paid over 150 euro per night for three nights in a small apartment, which is charged by number of guests, and I admit that was reasonable. For the next three days, we paid the same, over 150€/night, for an awful studio. The extra beds and extendable beds were awful too. The owner also asked for extra money for the extra kids, in cash with no invoice. The pool closes at 6PM. In my view, the owners only care about taking your money. Customer is always right, and I had a very negative experience.

The pool was lovely and clean, with loads of sunbeds available. The rooms were basic but had all you needed, and cleaners came every day to clean thoroughly. Air conditioning was a bonus in the 35-40°c heat. George at the bar was exceptional, always smiling, chatting and making sure you were happy. He makes a brilliant milkshake and cocktails, and the bar food was hot, fresh and delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect. We’ve just come back from a lovely 10 day stay. Highly recommend!

We liked the place. It’s good value and just a few meters from the main street, which makes it quieter. The pool bar is nice, and it’s good for families. We were happy with the cleanliness, including the daily towel changes, which are rare nowadays.
