4-You Residence

The staff were always smiling and polite, and the bedrooms are large and very clean. There’s a small kitchen and a big terrace looking out over the pool. Getting in from the main road is a little tricky. At the beach, though, they provide just one umbrella and three sunbeds for an apartment meant for four adults. The shore is pebbly rather than sandy, but the water is lovely.

The two families staying there at the same time as me were inconsiderate and didn’t seem to realize they weren’t the only guests. There’s a lovely, spacious yard in front of the villa, but guests shouldn’t be allowed to play football or make a lot of noise late into the night. The owners should set quiet hours and check now and then that people are following them.

We had a ground floor apartment for four nights, with a spacious balcony that was the best we’ve ever had at a hotel. The kids could go straight from it into the garden and playground. They’d also left six bottles of water for us on arrival, a really nice touch. The beach is very close, though the road there isn’t suitable for strollers. It was quiet, not crowded, and the clear water was great for kids. The biggest issue was cleanliness. I’m not too concerned about daily cleaning, and the cleaner did miss one day, but we never received fresh towels or sheets. The apartment wasn’t properly cleaned before we arrived, especially the kitchen and bathroom, which I find inexcusable at that price. There was even broken glass on the floor between the sink and fridge, with no broom to deal with it. On the third day the cleaner came, I told her about the glass, and she cleaned it and gave me a broom. We’d also asked them to let us know if any nights before our arrival opened up, since we wanted a longer stay. They had cancellations but didn’t tell us. That part was okay.

It’s quite isolated, depending on what you’re after. For us, that worked perfectly, and the rooms and balcony were lovely and spacious.
